Visting Policy

At the Brantford General site, we have a flexible visiting policy. Visiting hours are established in consultation with the patient and may be adjusted based on the clinical care needs of the patient or roommate.

To protect our patients, please use the hand washing stations located at all our entrances. Do not visit the hospital if you or your children are feeling sick, have a fever or cough, have diarrhea or vomiting.

At The Brantford General, the main entrance to the hospital is found on Terrace Hill Street. During the evening hours, from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., access to the Hospital is restricted to the Emergency Walk-In entrance only. A Security Station is conveniently located just inside the door. Access to the Emergency Department remains open 24 hours a day. However, access to the main hospital will require a temporary visitor pass. Security will contact the unit where the visitor will be going and the visitor

Please Note: The hours between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. are considered quiet time. Visitors are asked to speak softly, avoid the use of equipment such as televisions and radios and avoid lighting that may disturb other patients. Visitors must check in at the communication station when they arrive at the floor. Children who require supervision must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient.
