Lab Process Notes :   Prior to shipment the sample should be acidified in the laboratory by adding 1 drop of 6N HCL to 5mls of urine. Please confirm the pH is between 2-3. DO NOT over acidify the urine sample. Samples that are over-acidified will not be assayed.

This acidification is required since endogenous ascorbate is converted in the urine to oxalate at an alkaline pH. Additionally the reagent buffer supplied by the kit manufacture has been prepared based upon the urine having a pH of between 2-3.

Storage & Transport:

Store refrigerated. Please submit in a 10ml conical urine container.
