Brant Community Healthcare System is beaming with pride after eight staff and physicians were awarded honourary Paul Harris Fellowship Awards by the Rotary Club of Brantford-Sunrise during a virtual ceremony held earlier today at Brantford General Hospital.
In addition, BCHS has been awarded a certificate of recognition for the organization’s extraordinary efforts to care for patients during the pandemic.
The Rotary Club of Brantford-Sunrise is part of an international network of service-minded people in nearly 200 countries. In Brantford and Brant, the club focuses their resources on youth, literacy and quality of life for all community members.
Award recipients are being recognized for their exemplary efforts throughout the coronavirus pandemic, going above and beyond to ensure the health and safety of BCHS patients, visitors and hospital personnel.
“We are so proud of these individuals for stepping up to serve as true leaders during the most difficult times on record in health care,” said Dr. David McNeil, BCHS president and CEO. “The exemplary work and dedication of the entire BCHS team has allowed us to ensure the safety of the people we serve while providing uninterrupted care to our patients and the community. We extend our sincerest thanks to the Rotary Club of Brantford-Sunrise for recognizing our staff and physicians with this honour.”
The Paul Harris Fellowship Award is presented by the Rotary Club of Brantford-Sunrise and is one of the highest honours Rotary can present to someone. Recipients are community professionals and Rotarians recognized for their outstanding contributions, and who exemplify the highest Rotary ideal to place service above self.
