COVID-19 outbreak on B7 declared over at Brantford General Hospital
Brantford, ON – An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared over on the B7 Medical Inpatient Unit at Brantford General Hospital.
The outbreak was declared Wednesday April 21 when, initially, two patients and one BCHS health care worker tested positive for COVID-19. In total, five patients and two BCHS staff members tested positive.
In consultation with the Brant County Health Unit, Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) has declared the outbreak over as of Thursday, May 6, 2021.
BCHS extends sincere thanks to all staff and physicians for their continued dedication and diligence to ensure all patients receive safe, high quality care. The heroic efforts of our front line teams to control the outbreak has been exemplary.
To the community, BCHS expresses gratitude for ongoing support throughout the pandemic, and encourages people to continue following all public health protocols to stay safe and protect against COVID-19.
The stay at home order remains in effect – please wear masks in public, clean your hands often and keep a safe 2-metre distance from others. By continuing to follow these simply safety tips together, we will be able to keep the community safe.
