During the two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, many health care workers have had to be reassigned in order to alleviate the impact that COVID-19 was having on patients, staff and physicians.
When the pandemic began, Morgan Gregoric, a registered nurse at BGH, was working in the operating rooms. In order to assist with the needs of the hospital, Morgan volunteered to work evenings and many on-call shifts that differed from her regular working hours. As COVID-19 raged on, she was redeployed to work in other areas of the hospital, including the B8 Medical unit and the see-and-treat unit in the Emergency Department.
"I had not done this type of nursing before, and I found it quite interesting. The physicians and staff made me feel very welcome and comfortable in my new role. They taught me so much" she says.
