Strain on Local Emergency Response Services
County of Brant, ON – Local emergency medical services including Brant-Brantford Paramedics and the Brant Community Healthcare System are experiencing a high demand for service.
“Paramedics are ready to serve the community,” said Russell King, Chief of Paramedic Services. “Please remember that we have a limited number of resources available and when all ambulances are in use, it makes it more challenging to respond to critical incidents.”
Call 911 immediately for any life-threatening medical problem including:
- Chest pain,
- Choking,
- Difficulty speaking,
- Drowning,
- Poisoning,
- Sudden intense pain,
- Severe burns,
- A suicide threat,
- Weakness or numbness on one side of your body or,
- Other serious medical problems

Brant-Brantford Paramedics continue to work with the emergency sector to ensure care is available for when you need it.

The Brant Community Healthcare System remains open and prepared to care for patients and families. The Brantford General Hospital Emergency Department is open 24 hours per day, every day. The Willett Urgent Care Centre located in Paris is open weekdays 9:00 am – 9:00 pm and weekends 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
